Recent public surveys in the United States, Europe and the United Kingdom report an increasing reliance on online sources for information about current news, especially relating to science and technology Castell et al. Given that this figure aggregates all forms of social media, this suggests that science blogs currently constitute only a tiny proportion of science information sources.
